This hill country retail center was developed around the natural landscape, working with existing grades and valuable established trees. The buildings are founded on stable Edwards Limestone formation with standard concrete slab on grade construction and shallow drilled piers at concentrated loads. The roof is framed with steel bar joists, in clear 45 feet span arrangements where openness is critical, and with intermediate beams, where practical. Architectural roof forms are shaped easily with sloped bar joists and top chord extensions at overhangs. Exterior canopies are simple tube and channel assemblies with strength for large retail signage as will likely be needed. The project includes three primary buildings with a fourth building expected to be constructed this year and a fifth possible in the near future.
